FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE (August 19, 2009)

DVS Skatepark Showdown celebrates 10th year in Colorado with an event at the Rio Grande Skatepark in Aspen.

It was a perfect sunny day in Aspen as 34 skateboarders from around Colorado and beyond competed in the 10th Annual DVS Skatepark Showdown at Rio Grande skatepark.  SkateAspen.com presented the event along with Polar Revoltion, D&E, Taster’s, DaKine, Casual Culture, Powell Skateboards, Bones Wheels & Bearings, Matix Clothing, DVS Shoe Company, BoardPusher.com, Skull Candy, Dragon Optics, SkateSister.com, and Smith Optics.

Competitors of all abilities age 4 to 35 were pitted against one another in four categories: Women/Girls, Beginner, Amateur, and Pro Open.  Each division competed in two jam sessions, the first in the deeper “clover” bowl and the second in the “flow zone” of the skatepark.  The results from the two jams were combined to decide the best skatepark rider of the day.
